We left the Friday before Memorial Day on a road trip to Oregon and our adventure took us through 8 different states. We went through Salt Lake City along the way and stopped to see the great Salt Lake. After going through SLC, we decided to head west to Nevada. This was a little out of the way, but since neither Travis or I have ever been in Nevada (we don't count airports!), we decided to do it. We have now been to all but one state west of the Mississippi (we're missing North Dakota). I have to say, Nevada's not that exciting!
The girls were great travelers! Mackenna's eating a gummy worm in this photo.
On the way there, we drove it in 3 days...14 hours the first day, 12 hours the second day and 8 hours the 3rd day. The first night, we drove late, stopped at a truck stop, put the seats down in the back of the van and slept on the floor. This was my idea and one that I have lots of memories doing as a kid. It would've worked great, except that it was about 32 degrees in Wyoming that night and we were still in t-shirts and shorts. We had lots of blankets and did manage to get some sleep. Let's just say the kids slept much better than the adults! Addison called it a "mini-van adventure!"
On the way home, we drove it in 2 days...14 hours the first day and 16 hours the second day. It was long, but when you're on the way home, you just want to get there. The girls did great and didn't complain. This is the first trip though that we've heard "are we there yet?" several times!

Fun to go and fun to get back. Good memories!
