Because of her delay in speech, Mackenna qualifies for speech therapy. And since she's 3 now, she moves on to the public school system. Our school has an awesome set-up for early-childhood students. Not only does she get help with her speech, she gets to go to pre-school twice a week in the afternoon for and hour and a half. She works on her speech while she's there, but she also gets to do the typical pre-school activities as well. So far, she loves it!
As far as her speech, she's almost caught up to what a typical 3 year old should be able to do. We're still working on it, but she made huge progress in a year. She's talking all the time and repeats everything we say, so much so that sometimes we feel like she won't be quiet!

You asked for it didn't you - you wanted her to talk. Good for her. Go Mackenna.
