Ag Day

Each year, the elementary school goes to Ag Day at the Historical Society here in town.  I was able to go with Addison this year and got to lead these 4 little ladies around in a group!
Scout, Samantha, Addison & Ella
There was a portable dairy there this year.  The man told the kids all about the process of milking a cow, the different kinds of cows, what they eat and answered lots of great questions from the kids.
You can see the milk in the glass tank in this picture.  The kids thought it was cool to see the milk going into the tank.  Addison was particularly interested in all of this since Grandpa Schmidt is a dairy farmer.
Addison and Ella sitting in the one room school house listening to the teacher talk about school in the "olden" days.
mowing the grass

washing clothes
farm animals
making rope
They would've gone on wagon rides all morning if I would've let them!
The blacksmith making a nail.

Addison has recently started watching Little House on the Prairie, so today she asked several times if this was like the olden days when Laura lived.  It was a fun day and I enjoyed watching the kids experience a little bit of the "olden days!"

What an incredible experience. Did you tell Addison that grandma Wiselogel went to a one room school? Glad you got to go too.
